Get a little Dirty!

It’s pretty easy to know what to eat in general. Eat things that grow in dirt. Do not eat things that were live beings or came from live beings.

I am going to become the record that skips on the one track. Protect yourself, eat better.

Right now we’re still talking in general. Big sweeping changes. Hopefully I will get to specifics.

I like this page on the American Institute for Cancer Research┬áIt isn’t very complicated, just the quick and easy facts.

Eat Things that Grow in the Dirt!

Foods That Fight Cancer
Apples
Blueberries
Broccoli & Cruciferous Vegetables
Carrots
Cherries
Coffee
Cranberries
Dark Green Leafy Vegetables
Dry Beans and Peas (Legumes)
Flaxseed
Garlic
Grapefruit
Grapes and Grape Juice
Soy
Squash (Winter)
Tea
Tomatoes
Walnuts
Whole Grains

I really just want to talk about all the reasons you shouldn’t eat other foods but it is so easy to get sucked into the trap of negativity. So I promise to try and stay at least a little balanced.

  1. I don’t get soy. I’ve seen good things but a lot more bad things. Now these could all be from fruitcake sites. I haven’t researched it too much. Especially thyroid sites are always negative about it. And then there was the whole estrogen derivative…which could be malarkey. I don’t know. But I have tried to stay away from it just incase. So am I doing that for no reason. So much conflicting info out there.

    1. I go back and forth on Soy as well. I have no working thyroid so I don’t worry so much about that. And even though my cancer is probably not affected by hormones, you never know, right? The other thing is, I have no reproductive system and I do not take any sort of HRT (hormone replacement therapy for you young’uns) so maybe a little estrogen would be good for me?
      Sigh…

Thoughts?
