The flip side

It is easy to post hints for being a better gym member because it really boils down to a couple of things that are just as important in real life dealings with people.

Be aware of yourself and the space you take up. Don’t be flinging sweat at people, or stepping into their personal space. In my gym we have a limited space to be before and after actually being on the mat and it is important that you pay attention to those around you. Don’t stand in the middle of the room chatting, do not stand in front of the the cubbies – grab your stuff and move.

Be helpfu but not overbearing. It is good to help someone who looks lost or you know is new, but do not tell everyone that they are doing moves wrong. Some people are just adapting the move for their own body.
